Sustainable work and business not only secures the future of a company while at the same time protecting the limited resources available, but also shows that more and more companies, including ours, are aware of their social obligation with regard to the global protection of the environment.

Environmental protection and sustainability have been on the agenda of SM Calvörde for a long time.

That's why we started implementing the environmental management system according to ISO 14001:2015 in 2023. We have now been successfully certified.

The advantages of using an EMS are obvious:

• Dangers to nature and the environment can be identified early and, if they occur, we can minimize them with less effort.

• The implementation of the EMS leads to greater awareness among our managers and employees and a broader involvement of our staff with a view to achieving internal environmental goals.

• We can minimize risks in the area of environmental liability by implementing this system.

• Optimal use of energy and raw materials helps us to save costs, improve profitability and generally save valuable resources.

• The legal certainty resulting from the fulfillment of obligations within the framework of the environmental management system relieves the financial burden on our company.

We want to integrate indirect environmental aspects such as investment decisions or in-house project processes even more closely into our EMS in the future.

We are sure that we have come a little closer to sustainable environmental compatibility of our products and processes and responsible stakeholder behavior.
